The Virden Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual “Egg Hunt &Spring Festival” on Saturday, March 23, on the Virden Square. The Easter event will be begin at 10 AM with walk-up stations for all kids ages 0-12. At 11 AM there will be separate egg hunts for kids ages 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. The event will end at noon.
Heavy rain or thunderstorm would push the event to the rain date which this year will be on Sunday, March 24, from 1 PM – 3 PM.
The North Mac Mom’s women’s support group will be directing the event for the VACC. They are inviting local businesses, churches, and civic organizations to have a drive-up or walk-up “station” similar to the October “Trunk or Treat” where each child has an opportunity to go home with some goodies. It can be anything from a packaged food or drink, a coupon for something free from your business, filled eggs, small toys, or whatever you choose.
Any merchants or organizations wishing to donate prizes, cash to purchase prizes, or to have a station of their own may contact Debbie Kershaw through the Chamber’s Facebook page or through this form. The VACC also welcomes any adult or older youth volunteers to help with the prize distribution.
