Each summer Virden takes pride in celebrating and highlighting their young people with a "Miss Virden" and a "Little Miss and Mister Virden" competition. The pageants themselves draw huge crowds to the city park during the American Legion's 4th of July 3-day celebration as the children and young women take part in an evening of entertainment and fun. The winners represent our community throughout the coming year at local events, school related activities, and other communities' parades and celebrations. Congratulations to all winners past and present who help shape the future and focus of Virden, Illinois.
