Loans and credit along with eServices. They also provide wealth management and farm management plus financial and retirement plan services are also available through CNB as well!
Sheryl Meyers loves working with people and the accounting aspect of the job. Along with Sheryl, Carla Royer and Candace Williams work fulltime at CNB. Carla has been with the bank for 35 years. “I will be here for 36 in November.”
Candace is also a longtime employee; she has been with the bank for 20 years. Lacey Handy works part-time for this full-service branch serving the Virden community. Lacey has been with CNB for two years and loves the small branch aspect of the CNB Bank & Trust. Before becoming CNB Bank, Carla Royer said the bank was Jacksonville Savings Bank. “Jacksonville Savings bought the bank in October of 1986 and that is when we opened.”.
The bank building was built in 1983 Carla said and was originally another savings and loan before being bought by Jacksonville and eventually becoming CNB.
Being part of the CNB staff Carla is something that she loves. “We are very personable. People love to chat with us.”
It was hard during the Pandemic when they didn’t get to see their customers face to face. Carla said the staff all know their customers on a personal basis and that during COVID, they missed coming into the lobby. While it can be hard because sometimes there are just two of them working and with people coming in and arriving at the drive through, the personal interaction is key.
Carla added that their customers have told them, “We are the friendliest bank in town.”
Knowing their customers and being able to assist them with their needs is what makes the Virden branch such an important aspect in the Virden community.
When dealing with financial information keeping a close eye is a must with new Internet scams popping up. Carla advises customers to be wary of rising scams. She said everyday she sees scams saying with texts and emails informing people that they are winning Amazon cards and more and asking for detailed personal information. If you receive information like this Carla advises you to contact your local bank to check it out. She advises checking your account on a regular basis as well. The employees at CNB are always glad to assist their customers to ensure that everything is correct and that accounts are running smoothly.
Working hand in hand with their customers, CNB is part of the fabric of the Virden community assisting both individuals and businesses alike!
