The Virden Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that instead of a traditional egg hunt on the square, this year we will host “Breakfast With The Bunny”
Join us on Saturday, April 12, at the Prairieland Community Ambulance building at 610 S. Springfield Street at the south edge of town. A breakfast of pancakes and sausage will be served from 9 AM – 11 AM on a donation only basis.
After breakfast, all kids ages 0-12 will have an opportunity to take home some fun prizes and candy filled eggs as they visit walk-up stations hosted by local merchants, churches, and organizations.
No need to worry about rain or cold as breakfast will be served in the Prairieland Ambulance lobby and the games and giveaways will be held in the ambulance bay. The VACC proceeds from this donation only event will be given to the families memorials of Kyle, Hunter, and Jacob James, victims of the February house fire that took their lives and left our community reeling.
The VACC is inviting local businesses, churches, and civic organizations to have a drive-up or walk-up “station” similar to the October “Trunk or Treat” where each child has an opportunity to go home with some goodies. It can be anything from a packaged food or drink, a coupon for something free from your business, filled eggs, small toys, or whatever you choose.
Any merchants or organizations wishing to donate prizes, cash to purchase prizes, or to have a station of their own may contact Debbie Kershaw through the Chamber’s Facebook page or through this form. The VACC also welcomes any adult or older youth volunteers to help with the prize distribution.
